When I ask people “where do you feel that in your body?” and they are unwilling/unable to answer, I’ve found it difficult to move the conversation forward. Having practiced thought labelling and body awareness in Zen, I knew that there was something I had experience with which a numb person didn’t, but I didn’t know what to do with that. I've never seen someone else have the sheer pleasure in the fingers thing. I thought it was just me.

How long between when you found this out and when you were able to tell people to fuck off without wavering?
Hmmm, that map of subjective feelings looks very useful. It introduces a level of precision that ordinary language lacks.
