Highly recommend buying any one of a number of emotion wheels. A former therapist of mine had one taped to her door, and now I have one taped to my door. Great for alexithymia enthusiasts.
wilhelm reich came up with the concept of "muscle armor" which describes 7 different types (horizontally spanning form pelvis to eyes) where tension in said area corresponds to a specific set of emotions being repressed, not expressed, or disavowed—he saw the "body as shadow"
alexithymia affects 1 in 10 people yet no one has a clue about it. irony is everyone knows whats a full blown npd is but u cant have that unless its also full blown alexithymia.
• i made a burner quora account and followed a boat load of "narcissistic abuse recovery coaches" and the madness that goes on within that community is something to behold
When I ask people “where do you feel that in your body?” and they are unwilling/unable to answer, I’ve found it difficult to move the conversation forward. Having practiced thought labelling and body awareness in Zen, I knew that there was something I had experience with which a numb person didn’t, but I didn’t know what to do with that. This post is enormously helpful :)
I've never seen someone else have the sheer pleasure in the fingers thing. I thought it was just me.
Would be cool post to explore more examples of emotion naming? Wonder what patterns you find, also counterintuitive discoveries.

How long between when you found this out and when you were able to tell people to fuck off without wavering?
Hmmm, that map of subjective feelings looks very useful. It introduces a level of precision that ordinary language lacks.
